International Codes Policy Position: BOMA International supports the adoption and implementation of the International Codes, the only set of coordinated and integrated set of model codes building codes for the built environment, as a means of achieving more consistent and more reasonable regulation of the commercial real estate industry.

NFPA Code 5000 Policy Position: BOMA International strongly opposes the adoption of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Building Code (NFPA 5000) by federal, state and local jurisdictions. Although BOMA International participated on the NFPA Building Code Committees, BOMA does not endorse either the NFPA process or the NFPA 5000.
